First time visit this past long weekend. Lovely spot, home style vibe with modern decor. I really enjoyed my visit, the food was delicious! Still thinking of the bite I had of the schnitzel. Lovely service, thank you.

The food here is traditional, authentic and delicious. It doesn’t taste “main stream Americanized”, processed or cooked from frozen - it’s all prepared fresh and tastes handmade like you would get in a simple European kitchen. They also have great German beer on tap and lively German music on the speaker. The restaurant is clean and has an overall pleasant atmosphere. Excited to come back and try more things off their menu.

Lunch menu at reasonable prices. Most surprising is that desserts are house made. Saw the chef making apple strudels from scratch at the back. Can't wait to try their dinner menu and other desserts.

Love this place so much. A warm and cozy family run restaurant with delicious food that tastes like home cooking. I never get tired of coming here & their sauerkraut is heavenly!

Great food. This is my first time trying out authentic German cuisine. Heringssalat is indeed bright as per menu description and the herring very tender. The entire dish is very refreshing. The Tannenbaum platter is delicious. The spatzle, which I believe is fried in animal fat, tastes amazing. The schnitzel is the best I have tasted. It is super thin and hence has a perfect infusion of flavour and texture. I love how crispy it is. The rinderroulade is well seasoned and has a nice mix of flavours between the beef and filling, but I find the texture too flaky for me. Having vanilla ice cream accompanying apple strudel is an act of pure brilliance. So good. Thanks to this restaurant, I now know that I have been eating strudels wrong my entire life. Lastly, the service is excellent. I was able to order the apple strudel as dessert even though the kitchen was closing, and the food came out promptly. I enjoyed this meal very much, and would recommend it to anyone who would like to try authentic German cuisine. EDIT: came back for Schweinshaxe and Linsen soup. Schweinshaxe is only available on the weekends, and it's a MUST ORDER. You have to see it to believe it.

And to top it off, the dark draft beer was the perfect complement to the meal, rich and smooth with just the right amount of flavor. The service was warm and welcoming, making for a wonderful evening. Highly recommend this gem in New Westminster!

Tannenbaum, a family-operated establishment with a Bavarian influence, presenting both lunch and dinner options. The service was on point and quite friendly however the food was the star of the show. The Tannenbaum Platter was our go to this time, it serves as an excellent choice for those eager to taste a variety of dishes, featuring Beef rouladen, schnitzel, and bratwurst accompanied by spatzel and vegetables. This was especially delicious when paired with a German beer. German restaurants are rare around here so we look forward to our next visit which we are looking to include trying the Schweinshaxe, a dish requiring advance ordering to ensure its fresh preparation.

What an fantastic food and environment! My husband and I both had the Schwarzwalder (traditional schnitzel) and it was such a good experience. The veggies were perfectly cooked, the schnitzel itself is huge and delicious, the gravy made my mouth water..perfect. You can’t go wrong in that place. For desert my husband had the Black Forest Cake and he loved it and I had the chocolate mousse - fantastic :) Definitely will come back. Highly recommended.
